Richey Glen Thompson ,75, was born on February 20, 1951, in Snyder, Texas to Joe and Maxine Thompson. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 5,2026.
Viewing will be on Saturday, March,7,2026 from 12: 00p.m.-9:00p.m. and Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 1: 00p.m-9:00p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman.
Graveside service will be at the Gruver Cemetery on Monday, 9,2026 at 10:00a.m. with John Scott officiating. A memorial service will follow at 11:30a.m. following the graveside at the Cornerstone Methodist Church in Spearman with John Scott officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Richey graduated from Tarleton State University in May 1973. He met the love of his life, Karen Lee McClellan and they were married on July 29,1972 in Sunray, Texas.
He worked at the Sunray Coop for many years before moving to Spearman, Texas in1982. He worked at Consumer Sales and then at Dick Elbert until he and his partners established Five Star Equipment in 1987, where he worked until his retirement in 2021. Richey had many accomplishments during his lifetime as he was involved in many community projects Lions Club, Booster Club, EDC Board, Little league, Hansford Hospice, Hansford Golf Club, Methodist Choir and was 2024-2025 Fan of the Year. He was a founding member of Spearman Scholarship Foundation. He also announced Lynx football for many years.
Richey was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws and brother Jimmy Lynn Thompson.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Karen of 53 years, daughter Bonnie Gay Thompson and son Toby Glen Thompson and wife Brandi and three grandchildren, Sailee Gruber and husband Dylan, Brenen Thompson and wife McKenzie and Greyson Thompsom, two brothers Bobby Thompson and wife, Kay, Larry Thompson and many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to Hansford Hospice or Hansford Golf Club.
