New Four-Way Stop Signs to Be Installed in Spearman

by Staff Report

SPEARMAN -- The City of Spearman will install new four-way stop signs at two intersections beginning Monday, Feb. 23, in an effort to improve traffic safety and slow speeding.

The new stops will be located at Cotter Drive and 11th Avenue and at South Brandt Street, Cotter Street, and 7th Avenue .
City officials said the changes were approved by the Spearman City Council to reduce accident risk and improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and nearby residents .

The Spearman Police Department will observe a 30-day grace period following installation, focusing on education and warnings rather than citations to allow motorists time to adjust .

Drivers are encouraged to slow down and watch for new signage. Diagrams showing the updated traffic flow at each intersection are included with this story .
