Jean Powers Chesser, 78, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, after a year-long battle with liver cancer. Born in Keene, New Hampshire, to John Glenn Powers and Beatrice Mabel Emery, Jean was known for her quiet strength and deep devotion to family.

She married the love of her life, Keith Chesser, on July 12, 1972, and their 53-year marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Jean took great joy in keeping up with her daughters, Danielle (Matt) and Katie (Mike) and her four grandchildren: Dori, Henry, Malia, and Isabelle. An avid follower of current events, she could always be counted on for thoughtful conversations about world news or the latest weather patterns.
Jean built a steadfast career as an administrative assistant at both Arizona State University and Wichita State University, where her professionalism and kindness left a lasting impact.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Johnny.
A graveside memorial service will be held in Gruver, Texas on June 14,2025 at the Gruver Cemetery at 9:45a.m. with Pastor Gary Gumfory officiating. A brunch and visitation will be at the Gruver Church of Christ following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
