DPS Crash Report
Crash between Gruver and Spearman on SH-15 at approximately 1:50 p.m. Monday.
Sam Sardello, 48, of San Antonio, the driver of a truck tractor semi-trailer, was westbound on SH-15 between Spearman and Gruver. He crossed over into the eastbound lane and clipped an oncoming straight truck, causing Sardello to lose control of the truck tractor semi-trailer and roll over multiple times.
Sardello was not wearing a seat belt. He was airlifted to Amarillo Northwest Hospital with incapacitating but non-life-threatening injuries.
A 7-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy, passengers in Sardello's truck, were transported to the hospital in Spearman with non-life-threatening injuries.
None of the occupants in the vehicle Sardello was driving were secured by a seat belt.
The other driver was not injured.
