Jimmy Dewayne Snider, 61, of Amarillo, TX, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, to join his Lord and Savior in eternal rest.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at San Jacinto Assembly of God Church in Amarillo, TX, with Billy Snider officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Jimmy was born on October 14, 1962, in Spearman, TX, to Vance and Irene Snider. He married the love of his life, Jean Snider, on February 14, 1988, in his parents' home. Together, Jimmy and Jean built a life grounded in faith, hard work, and love.
To his family, Jimmy was the go-to person who could "fix anything." He and Jean created many beautiful things around their homes, showcasing his talent for mechanics and problem-solving. He played a significant role in establishing and growing several family businesses.
Jimmy was a kind and caring man who always put his family first. He never missed a front-row seat at his children's events and cherished his role as "Granddad." In his spare time, he enjoyed leatherwork, grilling on his smoker, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and spending quiet moments with Jean on their front porch, drinking coffee and reflecting on their day. Jimmy expressed his love for his family through his actions, always ensuring their needs were met. He was the world to his wife, her best friend and companion through all of life's journey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marie Leight.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Snider, of Amarillo, TX; son, Jordon Snider of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Sarah Worley and her husband, TJ, of Amarillo, TX; granddaughters, Stella Worley (age 2) and Sophie Worley (due in November); siblings, Bobby Snider and his wife, Kay, of Spearman, TX, and Billy Snider and his wife, Robin, of Amarillo, TX.
