Spearman Youth and Community Organize a Trash Pick up Event!

by Suzanne Bellsnyder, Editor

The Spearman Catholic Church and members of the Spearman community came together on Wednesday for a Trash Pick up Day. The group picked up trash all along the length of County Road W / 13th Street and also cleaned up trash in the lots on 5th Street across from Lowe’s Grocery Store.

The clean-up day was organized by Angie Sonnenberg, and close to thirty volunteers showed up to help with a trash bag and their gloves. Community members who helped included Bri & Larry McCauley with Diamond G Irrigation, Bonnie Thompson with the Spearman Chamber, Suzanne Bellsnyder, Abby Pipkin, Scott Sonnenberg, and Preslee Paddock. High School Student Pipe Pipkin and recent graduate Avren Delozier also helped!

Pizzas and cold water for the volunteers were donated by Panhandle First Bank and city council member Mark Murray who owns Salt and Light.

Thanks to all who participated! Organizers hope to host more clean-up days this summer and invite you to join them!
