Howard Thompson, 68, of Gruver passed away on Tuesday April 2, 2024. Viewing will be on Saturday, April 6, 2024 (9:00a.m.-9:00p.m.), Sunday April 7, 2024 (1:00p.m.-9:00p.m.) with family visitation from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman. Graveside services will be on Monday April 8,2024 at Gruver Cemetery,11:00 with Rev. Scott Curry officiating. Meet at First Baptist Church for precession to Gruver Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Howard was born on March 7, 1956 to Elmer Thompson and Viola Wilkerson Thompson in Mangum, Oklahoma. Howard was a Sheriff's Deputy in Hansford County and Marshall at Whitedeer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gruver. Howard loved being a cowboy, a devoted Dad and loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was in the construction and concrete business for many years.

"One of Howard's favorite ways to spend time with his kids and grandkids was at the lake. Howard loved to camp, fish, boat & throw kids off the tube! He also loved cooking out with them at gatherings. He always loved time with his family and friends"

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Cecil Thompson.

Howard is survived by his partner Donna Finley of Gruver, daughter Melissa Jones of Amarillo, son, Wesley (Kristin) Thompson of Cumby, TX., daughter Jocelyn (Michael) White of Dalhart, TX., Kristi and husband Brian Norman of OK.,Katie and husband Tyler Meyer of OK., Kyle and wife Lacey Janzen of OK., Kelton Janzen of OK.,Kendra Jansen of Gruver, also brother, Bobby Thompson of Gruver, sisters, Wanda Beard of Plesenton, TX. , Pat Alexander of Angleton, TX., Fern Harris of College Station.TX. and brother, Otis Thompson of Yuma, Arizona. He also leaves behind his 22 grandchildren and many friends.

Family suggests memorials be to ones favorite charity.
